PVCNSI partners with Holyoke Public Schools to support experiential learning in natural sciences
PVCNSI created a Natural Science Academy to support formal and informal experiential natural science programs for high school students by creating a wide learning ecosystem through our own Pioneer Valley Coral aquafarm and incubator space.
Our approach is based on the philosophy of positive youth development and strong beliefs that interest in STEM fields at an early age can be successfully fostered through structured voluntary activities and organizational participation in project-based educational programs.
PVCNSI’s partnership with Holyoke Public Schools provides students’ access to experiential learning opportunities focused on marine science, environmental engineering and chemistry. We created an infrastructure to facilitate capstone projects, internships, and other experiential activities and to support professional development for teachers.
